Meet the Makers of the Putney Craft Tour

Now in its 47th year, the Putney Craft Tour is Vermont’s longest-running open-studio celebration, inviting visitors to explore more than two dozen working studios across Putney and Westminster West.

From molten glass and hand-spun yarns to jewelry, painting, and woodwork, the tour showcases the heart of Vermont’s creative culture — where craftsmanship meets community. Visitors can watch demonstrations, ask questions, and purchase one-of-a-kind gifts directly from the artists who make them.

Meet potters like Joshua Gold and Ryan Burch, jewelers like Jaja Laughlin and Allison Korn, painters Judy Hawkins and Nancy Calicchio, and glass artists Robert Burch and Julia Brandis. Each brings their own story, materials, and mastery to this uniquely Vermont experience.

Held annually over Thanksgiving Weekend, the Putney Craft Tour offers a joyful mix of artistry, storytelling, and small-town warmth.

Sharing the bill is Vermont-based Olivia Nied, a transgender, neurodivergent multi-instrumentalist whose upcoming album captures the joy of radical self-expression and emotional depth. With a resume that includes sold-out shows and performances across Europe and the U.S., Nied brings tender grit and vibrant honesty to the stage.

This intimate concert is presented in collaboration with Bellows Falls Pride. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Only 40 seats available.

The Brattleboro Winter Farmers’ Market returns for its 20th season starting Saturday, November 1st, 2025, at the Winston Prouty Campus. Open every Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM through March, the market transforms the Croker Hall gymnasium into a vibrant indoor hub of local produce, meats, cheeses, baked goods, and artisan crafts. Visitors can expect a cozy community atmosphere and farm-fresh greens—even in the middle of winter.

SNAP/EBT shoppers are welcome, and thanks to NOFA-VT, shoppers can match up to $20 weekly with Crop Cash and Crop Cash Plus through December. The Winter Market is more than a place to buy food—it's a gathering space where local farms meet neighbors, music fills the room, and Vermont’s agricultural roots shine.
